With a win by RNC over Josh Diekmann now behind him, Morecraft’s best remaining competition looks to CFX Heavyweight Champion Lee Beane and Pat Bennett, a new name on the scene who won his pro debut at CFX Battle Under the Stars with a 60-second TKO over Jullian Coutinho.

According to Fiveouncesofpain.com, Kimbo Slice vs. Houston Alexander is rumored to be apart of the TUF10 Finale in Las Vegas on Dec. 5. Northeast beasts Jon Jones and Matt Hamill will headline the fight card and New Jersey’s Frank Edgar will face fellow Garden State wrestler Kurt Pellegrino.

NEW YORK  - DREAM Welterweight Grand Prix Champion Marius “Whitemare” Zaromskis (13-3) of Lithuania has signed a multi-fight agreement with world championship mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion STRIKEFORCE.

Known for his explosive, highlight reel kicks, the 29-year-old, world-ranked Zaromskis has been his opponents’ worst “Whitemare” the last three years. The 2009 DREAM Welterweight Grand Prix Champion has won five fights in a row and nine of his last 10.

Zaromskis is coming off an utter destruction of Myeon Ho Bae, winning by 0:19, first-round KO on Oct 25. The victory earned Zaromskis the 2009 DREAM Welterweight Grand Prix crown.

Remarkably, it was the third consecutive time Zaromskis won a fight with a head kick in the opening round. On July 20, 2009, he defeated both Jason High (2:22) and heavily favored Hayoto Sakurai (4:03) with head kicks to win DREAM’s 170-pound tournament.

Zaromskis turned pro on Feb. 4, 2000. He fought several times for UK-based Cage Rage before joining DREAM in early 2009.

Lauzon apparently suffered a back injury in training recently and will not be ready for the Sept. 19 event. He is expected to undergo an MRI in coming days to determine the full extent of the injury.

No information on a possible replacement was yet available.

Both Lauzon and Oliveira are acquisitions from a new sponsorship partnership between the Ultimate Fighting Championship and Affliction. The arrangement saw the UFC fold several Affliction fighters into its brand, while Affliction closed up shop on its fight promotion and returned as an official apparel sponsor of the UFC.

The other three STRIKEFORCE world championship fights remain intact: Gina Carano will collide with Cris Cyborg in the main event and the first STRIKEFORCE women’s 145-pound championship fight in history. 

Nick Diaz and Joe “Diesel” Riggs will revisit their bitter rivalry in the first-ever STRIKEFORCE welterweight (170 pounds) championship matchup and Josh “The Punk” Thomson will risk his lightweight (155 pounds) belt against former champion Gilbert “El Nino” Melendez.
